Defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith with broncos jersey extended the contract with the team while starting inside linebacker Andra Davis was released.
Smith is a fifth-year pro who played in 11 games in his first season in Denver last year after he was acquired from New England in a trade Aug. 17. He started twice. In 42 career regular season games, Smith has had 19 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery. Davis is a ninth-year pro who had 90 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks and three pass breakups in 16 games, including 13 starts, for Denver last season.
Defensive lineman J’Vonne Parker who was injured also was released.
